Navigating BABAA and Buy American Requirements<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA)\u2014introduced as part of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act\u2014places stricter requirements on federally funded infrastructure projects. Specifically, BABAA mandates that all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in these projects must be produced in the U.S.<\/p>\n

This is different from the Buy American Act (BAA), which applies to direct federal purchases rather than funded projects. While BABAA has reshaped public procurement, the original Buy American rules remain unchanged.
